we are taking a music class that just started yesterday through a program called music together. it was just too fun! it's for 45 minutes and the teacher dances around with her guitar. the kids play with instruments and we sing all kinds of songs. dottie was happy the enitre 45 minutes. we are looking forward to next week already. our friends, marie and siena, and, basak and lula, are taking it too. marie and siena came over for a nice visit beforehand and then we walked over together. here are some pics of the class.
While we were in NY at the National Stationery Show, I met a new friend, Basak, who also has a letterpress card line called Small Square Design (it's really cute stuff, you should check it out!). Basak just happens to have a daughter too. Her name is Lula, and she is about a month and a half older than Dottie. We got together last week but dottie ended up napping through the whole play date (taking after her daddy!?). This week they invited us to the mom's group they are a part of. It has been really hot here so we met at a local park and let the babies play around on blankets. This is a picture of Dottie and her new friend Lula.
malcolm and penny came over today for a visit. pretty amazing how much malcolm has grown in 6 weeks, eh? href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_uMZFxocmnUM/SFm3kLPWi-I/AAAAAAAAAOo/wPIE0iFRnHk/s1600-h/grown+2.JPG"> href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_uMZFxocmnUM/SFm3jRdmaII/AAAAAAAAAOg/AvavER0q_Fc/s1600-h/grown.JPG">
we went to check out the butterfly exhibit at the conservatory of flowers in golden gate park yesterday. as much as we wanted dottie to be interested in the butterflies, she seemed more interested in the fans on the ceilings and the people passing by. oh well! in the first picture, we got her to check out at least one them.
* loves milo-smiles or laughs when she sees him * obsessed with her feet, likes to suck on those little tiny toes of hers * looks more and more like her daddy every day * looks more and more like her mommy every day (posted by chuck) * can be calmed by hearing the abc's (over and over and over) * plays peak a boo with us with a little blankie and loves it * sucks her 2 fingers * is starting make fun noises with her lips by blowing out * makes a funny coughing noise when she is hungry * drools a lot * sleeps on her belly * splashes like crazy in the tub * hated the pacifier, loved the pacifier, and now hates it again * can't get enough of being on her belly but gets frustrated because she can't really move to grab things
on a visit home recently, my mom and i went through all of my baby clothes. we chose the cutest things and she was kind enough to clean them all up and send them to us. these pictures are of dottie in a little knit dress that was mine as a baby.
but she loves it! last weekend we got an exersaucer for dottie and couldn't avoid ugliness! it's funny, we had gone out the weekend before to get one and couldn't bring ourselves to buying something so over the top. we thought maybe there were better options out there. well, if there are, we didn't find them. we've decided that the more gaudy things are, the more babies like them.
we went for another visit to see siena, marie, and nick this past sunday. my goodness dottie and siena were so adorable together! the last couple of visits, they didn't really acknowledge each other. this time, they were rolling on top of each other, dottie was sucking siena's fingers (as you can see in the last pic), they were leg locking, ... too gosh darn cute! gotta also love the stripes and polka dots together too!
dottie has been completely taken with milo lately. we actually think she prefers the beast to us sometimes. chuck and milo were playing tug of war the other day and dottie was belly laughing she thought is was so funny. today we headed to the beach for a bit to check out dad's surfing abilities. milo came to so dottie had fun helping me throw the ball for him. she couldn't keep her grin off of her face while watching him run around the beach. soon hopefully she will be more impressed with the surfing than with the dog...
