we picked up a cute little pink and red guitar for dottie from a street vendor during lunch the other day. she is pretty into try to play it!

garage sale with the girls

this saturday, we went over to our friend marie's house for a garage sale she was having and then a nice afternoon lunch in berkeley. more than anything, it was nice to get together with a bunch of friends. we didn't end up purchasing anything but allie did end up with a weird swan basket????

today was gorgeous in san francisco and towards the end of the day so we decided to have some friends over on the back deck to enjoy the weather. this is a picture of dottie with her 2 pals sam and isaiah.

some friends and project runway

mindy (and dutch) and allie came over last night for a little project runway. unfortunately it was on past dottie's bedtime so she didn't get to catch it! maybe in 16 years... mindy was so helpful and fed her while i made dinner. thanks mindy! (the corgi in the picture is dutch, not milo)

wyatt and wii

this is a picture of us watching wyatt play wii tennis. it's pretty unbelievable, he is 2 1/2 and plays it better than i could that's for sure. we'll see how he is at guitar hero. rock on wyatt!

dottie meets laverne the kitty

we went over to penny, jason, wyatt (2 1/2), and malcolm's (4 months) for dinner tonight and had a lovely time. dottie was loving following wyatt around and for some reason gave malcolm pats on the belly. at one point she caught a glimpse of laverne, their toothless cat, and didn't quite know what to do. it's funny, with dogs, she goes straight for them and if she sees them on the street, waves at them. with laverne she was a little more cautious and never actually got too close.

dottie and chuck stopped by our table at the steamroller event at the center for the book today. she is a huge fan of dutch door press!

peas and o o's

dottie tried cheerios for the first time today. we think she liked them but we're not sure. she had the darndest time getting them into her mouth. she's gotta work on those fine motor skills... (the green stuff all over her nouth is peas, her favorite dish as of late)

these cute barrettes were brought to my attention by my aunt marsha. they were made by another mara who lives in sf which i think is pretty funny. anyway, i think i might have to order some for friends who have a little more hair than little dottie...GO BARACK! if you would like to buy some, they are available here.

a teeny tiny c(l)one

on a visit to kansas city this past weekend, we stopped at a frozen custard stand that had little baby cones for the kiddies. dottie LOVED it and of course made a total mess! she loves sweets like her mom i think! she also couldn't look more like her dad if she tried could she?

sam

dottie and i went up to the park last friday with a woman i met in my mom's group and her little guy sam. they had a ton of fun together and for some reason, every time sam looked at dottie, he started cracking up. maybe it was the hat! oh and how cute is that little sweater sam is wearing?

as you can also see in the picture, dottie's new favorite toy is something as simple as a straw. we love it! we pick up and extra straw or two at the coffee shop in the morning and dottie is good to go for the rest of the walk playing with her straws.

hours and hours of entertainment

who knew $1.25 could buy hours of entertainment? on a walk this afternoon, we stopped into a local store and purchased this red balloon. dottie LOVES it and was happy just tugging at it all afternoon.

on a visit to NY last weekend for a wedding, the cousins gave dottie this dress. i think it's adorable so i decided to post a picture of her in it! thank you thomas, julie, sadie, and ellis.

bruiser

times have changed that's for sure. dottie is very mobile now and pulls herself up on almost everything. we are needing to keep a constant eye on everything she does. if you look closely, you will see her first war wound from mobility on her left cheek, a long skinny bruise. yesterday she pulled herself up on the coffee table and came crashing down.
